Tailoring
I started by tailoring my own trousers (that big booty & small waist combo ain’t the one for buying off the shelf) and I'm graduating to designing and making my own pieces. I get a lot of satisfaction making with my hands rather than on a screen. The process of making completely shuts the noise off in my brain and in the end I have something to hold and wear.
What I really enjoy is the improvement with every iteration: sturdier stitching, more precise cutting, less waste, reusable patterns, making the most of what I have, learning which materials suit the job. Each attempt is a little more robust, simplified, refined, and with a better silhouette.
More soon — photos and notes as they come.
